Mr. Saad Al-Timimi, Secretary-General of the Al-Daae Party, commented on the Iraqi authorities' stance regarding the Khor Abdullah Agreement with Kuwait. In a press statement, the Secretary-General stated: “The political class that has ruled Iraq since 2003 and up to the present day has failed to protect the country’s interests. Its record clearly reflects the squandering of Iraq’s resources and potential over many years.” He added: “The Iraqi people have no confidence in this political class and are fully aware of its ties to, or influence by, foreign agendas—agendas that prioritise the interests of external powers over the well-being of the nation.” Al-Timimi affirmed: “The current political class’s handling of the Khor Abdullah Agreement will not differ from that of its predecessors, in that it will continue to place political self-interest above the interests of the nation and its people.”
