The General Secretariat of the Daae Party welcomes the opening of the Arar border crossing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and considers this a new start and a successful return to bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries. The opening of a border crossing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is considered the beginning of Iraq's openness to its Arab surroundings after a decades-long estrangement that led to the isolation of Iraq regionally, as well as caused many political and economic crises for the country. The adoption of sectarianism and abhorrent quotas by the ruling political class in Iraq over the past years has been reflected in the foreign policy and international relations of the country and has had a negative impact on its relations with its Arab surroundings in particular, despite Iraq's Arab roots and its geographical affiliation to the semi-autonomous region. The Arabian Peninsula, however, we have witnessed apathy, estrangement, and a clear and deliberate disengagement from The Arab incubator because of some foreign agendas that do not want our country to return to its natural surroundings or to its real international status.
