The General Secretariat of the Daae party condemns the heinous crime and the cowardly criminal act that claimed the life of Sheikh Ali Fadala al-Kaabi, the sheikh of the Albu Hammam clan in the Muqdadiya district of Diyala governorate, and a number of his children and grandchildren. The incident is a major security breach and an attempt to drag the province into sectarian strife, after it suffered from the civil war and sectarian fighting that it witnessed over the past years, which requires close ranks and spreading awareness to miss the opportunity for those living on sectarianism, division, rivalry and external agendas. It also requires a reassessment of the security situation. In the governorate, in light of the repeated violations that it witnessed recently, the accountability of the local administration and the security services holding the judiciary, and the opening of an urgent investigation to find out the perpetrators and bring them to justice so that they receive their fair reward. Uncontrolled weapons in the hands of armed groups and remnants of terrorist organizations is what prevents the establishment of security in our provinces, cities and villages and stands in the way of achieving sustainable security.
