Secretary-General of the Al-Daae Party Visits the Vatican Embassy in Baghdad and Offers Condolences on the Passing of Pope Francis

On Saturday, the Secretary-General of the Al-Daae Party, Mr. Saad Jassim Naser Al-Tamimi, accompanied by his delegation, visited the Embassy of the Vatican in Baghdad to extend his condolences on the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.

During the visit, the Secretary-General reflected on the Pope’s dedicated efforts in promoting global peace, highlighting his historic visit to Iraq. He also acknowledged Pope Francis’s advocacy for humanitarian causes in general, and his support for the Palestinian cause in particular.

In return, the representative of the Vatican Ambassador in Baghdad expressed appreciation for the visit and the condolences. As a gesture of gratitude, he presented the Secretary-General and his delegation with a commemorative book documenting Pope Francis’s visit to Iraq, noting that the late Pope had described that trip (along with his visit to the United Arab Emirates) as the two most significant visits of his life.
