The General Secretariat of the Daae Party condemns the arson and vandalism of the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Baghdad on Saturday morning 10/17/2020 While we reject these unconstitutional and illegal actions, we call on the federal government and its security agencies to take legal measures against anyone who tries to harm security and public order in the country. We also call on all parties to calm down and adopt legal and constitutional means in dealing with contentious political issues, in which only the citizen always falls victim. Today's events are intended to strike national unity and peaceful coexistence among the components of our dear country. We affirm what we have repeatedly declared in our previous statements about the need to keep the military institution, with all its apparatus, away from political conflicts, and we reject that chaos and armed groups be a substitute for state institutions, because that poses a great danger to democracy and its values that have been and are being transgressed. It is greatly influenced by most of the political forces in power. So that freedom of expression and the rest of the freedoms guaranteed by the constitution have become cordoned off and threatened.
