Statement of the General Statement of the General Secretariat of the Daae Party regarding the attacks on the media, the latest of which was the attack on the headquarters of MBC Iraq

The General Secretariat of the Daae Party denounces the repeated attacks on local, Arab and international media, the latest of which was the attack on the headquarters of MBC Iraq in Baghdad, and calls on the Iraqi government to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice as soon as possible.
Turning a blind eye on the part of the previous government and its procrastination of the legal measures that must be taken against the armed forces, which continued their attacks on media outlets and personalities since the start of the October Revolution until now, is what made these groups persist in their reckless behavior without giving any weight to the prestige of the state, the law, and freedom of opinion and the press in Iraq.
The Ministry of the Interior and all security and intelligence agencies must activate their role in preserving security and the rule of law and not be complacent in front of armed groups whose association and support are indicated by well-known political parties.
The continued silence on the recurrence of such attacks puts Iraq in great international embarrassment, so we call on the government of Mr. Al-Kazemi to take a quick and serious stance towards it and towards the parties and groups behind it.
In conclusion, we affirm our commitment to freedom of expression and the right to peaceful demonstration within the legal frameworks guaranteed by the constitution to express opinions and express positions on any issue, while we categorically reject resorting to the use of force and violence and transgression of law and order.
